Super Bowl Fundraiser

by Avni Hulyalkar

The Super Bowl is a classic American holiday full of team spirit, rambunctious cheering, and of course, food. This year, from 4 to 8 PM, Los Gatos Key Club hosted a Super Bowl Fundraiser designed to bring even more delicious food into the household while raising money for an important cause. We partnered with our local Chipotle, so for every purchase made using our special code, 33% went directly to Los Gatos Key Club, coming out to roughly $40. We donated this money to the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP). Donations to PTP are used for hospitals to develop community outreach programs, for Kiwanis clubs to reach more kids, and to buy safety items. Furthermore, PTP’s overall goal is to minimize the number of children harmed because of preventable trauma.

Board member Nithish Chakravarthy came up with this fundraiser and worked hard to make it a success! Because of his hard work and the support of members and Los Gatos High School students who purchased food, we were able to raise $40 for PTP and celebrate the Super Bowl with an array of chips, guacamole, burrito bowls, and tacos. No matter what side you were cheering for, Chipotle’s food definitely spiced up the game!
