TRAIL CLEANUPS

IMG_3680.jpeg

Los Gatos Key Club has been doing its best to keep Bay Area Trails clean. Recently, we have been participating in trail cleanup events at the Guadalupe River Trail. Prior to COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, we hosted monthly trail cleanup events at the Los Gatos Creek Trail. Pictured on the left are Los Gatos Key Club and Kiwanis members cleaning up the Los Gatos Creek Trail.

DCMs

At DCMs, short for Divisional Council Meetings, we get together with the other clubs in Division 12 West to report our most recent events and what we have planned to our Lieutenant Governor, Lion. DCMs happen each month of the year. At DCMs, you can expect some fun ice breakers, spirit cheers, and much more.

KEY TO LEADERSHIP WEBINAR

Hunter's Winnie the Pooh image.jpg

Recently, we held one of our biggest projects of the new term: The KEY to Leadership Webinar. Each board member presented to fourth and fifth graders about the essential traits for leaders. We also did our leadership challenge, in which we had the kids brainstorm and plan a service project. Lastly, we played a game of Kahoot to test the kids on their leadership knowledge.

WE GOT THIS LG!

COVID-19 has been the source of a lot of uncertainty recently. In order to show the Los Gatos citizens that we are here for them, and that there are brighter days ahead of us, we put up posters across the town of Los Gatos letting everyone know, "We got this."

HOME SWEET HOME

IMG_3667.jpg

During a pandemic, the work of frontline medical professionals is key to keeping a safe community. This is why we wanted to show our support for the nurses protecting our elders at  The Terraces and The Creeks. We created cards and donated donuts to nurses at the old folks homes to show our appreciation for their hard work.

SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

Coronavirus related health issues makes it dangerous to come into close proximity with other members of the community who could unknowingly be carriers of COVID-19. This makes it hard for at-risk citizens to complete necessary errands such as grocery shopping. In order to help feed the community, Los Gatos Key Clubbers volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank. Key Clubbers helped the SHFB sort, distribute, and deliver food across the Bay Area to those who need it most.
